An original painting inspired by walking through the desert at the peak of the afternoon, created in Joshua Tree by local artist Alex Maceda. This work blends the bright reflection of sun on sand with the midday desert sky; in it, clouds, land and sky swirl together to create a dreamlike landscape. Alex works with the desert environment, including the sun, wind, and natural elements to create her paintings. As this process often takes place outside, sand or natural elements are sometimes mixed into the painting. Any natural elements are intentional, as is any exposed canvas or irregular texture. This painting has finished edges, and can be left framed or unframed.
