MEET LINDA SHRADER
Some artists capture a place with paint. Others do it with form, texture, and time. Linda Shrader does all of it — rooted deeply in the desert and the community that surrounds it.
Linda is a local artist whose work is shaped by years of hiking the high desert, watching the light shift across the land, and paying attention to the small, powerful details that make Joshua Tree what it is. That connection shows up most clearly in her Joshua Tree Forever sculptures — three-dimensional pieces that let visitors take home something lasting. Not a souvenir, but a reminder.
Her Joshua Tree sculptures earned first-place awards at the Joshua Tree National Park Art Expo in both 2022 and 2023, and it’s easy to see why. Each piece feels thoughtful and grounded, like it belongs to this landscape.
Beyond sculpture, Linda is also the founder of Larger Than Life Murals, a project that’s brought nearly 100 murals to walls across the high desert. Her work is woven into the towns, the streets, and the stories here — art you stumble upon, art that stays with you.
Artist. Educator. Arts advocate.
Linda Shrader’s work celebrates the desert in a way that feels honest and enduring.
Come experience her sculptures next time you’re at Joshua Tree Trading Post, and take home a piece of this place that will always remind you where you’ve been.
