We missed that sound all summer. Now it's back.
We're Open Again, and the Timing Couldn't Be Better
The JT Trading Post outdoor market kicked back off this September, and honestly? It feels good to have the courtyard full again. Summer in Joshua Tree has its own kind of magic, but it's a quiet one — the desert asks you to slow down when the heat sets in. September is when things start to stir again. Vendors are trickling back in, the air's got a little more bite to it in the early mornings, and the whole lot has that first-day-of-school energy. New tents. New faces. Old favorites setting up right where you remember them.
And if September is the warm-up, October is the main event.
The high desert comes alive in October. Cooler air, longer golden hours, weekend crowds pouring in from all over Southern California to catch the shoulder-season sweet spot before the holidays hit. We're expecting our biggest vendor lineup of the year, more tents filling both the courtyard and the side yard, and the kind of foot traffic that makes the whole block feel like a festival. If you've been putting off a visit, this is the month to stop putting it off.
The Courtyard Got a Glow-Up
We didn't just reopen the market this year — we rebuilt the space it happens in. The courtyard's been redone from the ground up, and it shows. New shade, better flow between vendor rows, spots to actually sit and take it in instead of just passing through. It's the kind of space that makes you want to linger — grab something cold, wander a little slower, actually talk to the person who made the thing you're holding.

The Details
Every Saturday and Sunday, 9 AM to 4 PM, spread across our courtyard and side yard at JT Trading Post. Come early if you want first pick and cooler temps, or come midday and make an afternoon of it — either way, there's shade, there's shopping, and there's a reason to stick around.
October's shaping up to be the busiest stretch we've had in a while, so if you've got a weekend trip to Joshua Tree on the calendar, build in some market time. Bring cash for the small vendors, bring a bag for everything you're about to fall in love with, and bring your people — this is the kind of afternoon that's better shared.
